| The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce is the front door to the business community. The role of the Chamber, during this exciting time of Midwest City’s growth and development is to help promote existing businesses, attracting new businesses, and to continue to create the opportunity for a better quality of life.
With the help of its members, the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce has been able to promote Midwest City as “the best of family life and a great place to call home.” What Does the Chamber of Commerce Do? The mission of the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce is to create and maintain a favorable business climate in the community. In order to accomplish the mission the Chamber engages in a pro-active program of work that includes the following: The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce promotes and markets local businesses in Midwest City, to the Central Oklahoma region and in the global market place through: the Chamber’s Business Information and Referral Center, placing promotional materials at Oklahoma Welcome Centers throughout the State, providing mass mailing and mailing list services to local businesses, Business-After-Hours networking events, the Mainstream newsletter, the Midwest City Business Guide, local promotions and events, web links & listings and partnering with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for foreign trade contacts. The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce works to attract new investors and economic growth to the local economy through: the Midwest City Awareness Campaign, publication of the Midwest City Economic Outlook, targeted business recruitment, trade show business recruitment, Commercial Brokers Luncheons, Trade Area Demographic Data Services, business site selection assistance, commercial property vacancies posted on the www.midwescityok.com web site, partnering with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce to market local properties and promoting residential opportunities with www.eastisin.com. The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce works to maintain a strong local quality of life through: actively participating in the Tinker Air Force Base Quarterly Awards Program, the Navy’s TACAMO “Make A Difference” Award Program, participation in briefings, receptions and tours designed to create a greater awareness of the role and mission of Tinker Air Force Base. The Chamber is the sponsor of the Youth Excel and Leadership Midwest City programs (leadership programs for youth and adults), and conducts legislative briefings, public forums, meetings with local, state and national elected officials and hosts an annual Celebrating Education Luncheon.
