OVER $ 15 MILLION ANNUAL ECONOMIC IMPACT TO MIDWEST CITY
Since 1989, when Midwest City hosted it's first city sponsored event, The Olympic Festival,
the visitor industry has been steadily growing. The Economic Development Commission (EDC),
the Parks and Recreation Department and many volunteers sought a way to keep the
'Olympic Spirit' alive. The Midwest City Special Events and Festivals Committee (MWCSEF) was
formed to achieve this goal.
The MWCSEF has worked diligently through Parks & Recreation and the EDC to bring high
quality events to our community. In keeping the 'Olympic Spirit' alive they have helped that one
event grow into many sponsorships of various kinds.
