Eight area Vocational-Technical Centers form valuable resources for the preparation of skills for
industry. The State Board of Vocational Technical Education and the local Vo-Tech boards,
recognizing the need for training in modern skills and techniques, has provided the latest, highest
quality equipment available for instruction in electronics, drafting and design, chemical
technology, data processing, computer programming, computer numerical control machines,
fabricating skills, commercial art, automotive and diesel mechanics -- that is just a partial
listing.
And at both the grade school and high school levels, the Roman Catholic Church and a
number of nationally acclaimed private institutions provide for approximately one-tenth of the
area's education needs.
