The community logo describes Midwest City as "So Much, So Close," and we think the qualities that make us unique will quickly be recognized. It is a special place to live with your family and to educate your children. Located in Central Oklahoma, Midwest City serves as the economic trade center for Eastern Oklahoma County and is conveniently close to metropolitan area amenities. A community of 25 square miles, Midwest City's southern boundary is adjacent to Tinker Air Force Base with 4 gates that lead directly onto the Base from Midwest City. Our flag-lined streets on national holidays typify the Midwest City spirit. Whether you are visiting Midwest City, have decided to reside here or need additional information, please call the Chamber of Commerce office at (405) 733-3801. You may email the Chamber at information@midwestcityok.com . |

| A Brief Sense of History | |
|
Midwest City was founded in 1942 by W. P. "Bill" Atkinson, prominent businessman and builder in Oklahoma. The city grew rapidly as hard working and dedicated citizens realized quickly that a unique quality of life and high standard of living could be obtained for Midwest City. Goals were established by leaders of the community and achievement of these goals was realized in 1951 when Midwest City was honored as "America's Model City." Today, Midwest City holds official designations of "Tree City USA" and "Certified City". The community is defined by a warm and friendly atmosphere created by the citizens and a quality of life which places family first. |
